Event this year is 3 days, Mon 4th - Wed 6th July, but yeah, from the Fri to the Sat or will be a bit busy around and out there.
The crossing from the west no doubt see an increase in traffic from the 1st, as some take advantage of a trip across before the concert.
No doubt many will do similar after the trip the other way.
A good time to avoid if you want a quiet crossing, and access to Big Red.

Well yes, it is a commercial enterprise, but obviously the organisers have worked hard to build it, and it's great for the town of
Birdsville.
I assume there are plenty of charities that benefit from it as
well ?
Not sure, there usually are ways that RFDS, local fire
services etc benefit from these sorts of shows, but I haven't attended a bash as yet.
But I have been either starting or finishing crossings when it's been on.
A great vibe down below.

Heard on the news this morning that the organisers had capped the tickets sales at ........wait for it, 6,000!!!
Prior to hearing this I'd thought there might be room for an additional 1,500, over the 3,000 last year. Won't be able to swing a cat, let alone see the performers on stage. :-)

...and then of course there will be all the support crew that goes with the running of such an event.
Cheers
