Mines an older Pajero , but anyway.
The back of the
seat needs to be flat first (can usually be done from either side).
Then , at the bottom of the
seat , in the middle , at the back , is a Metal Rod , that looks like a handle. Pull upwards on that .
As I said though , its an older PJ , so whether its the same or not . . . .??
Don't know.
Don't you have a manual ?
PS . . . I recall the instructions for
mine are actually sewed onto the
seat ?

A bit more.
Bearing in mind ,
mine is an older PJ.
On the sides , you have the normal lever. On the pj's this tilts the
Seat , and allows the whole
seat to slide foward and back . . . thats not what you want.
On my PJ , there is a D shaped handle on a string (on either side) , pull on this , and the back of the
seat folds down.
You then pull on the rear bar. (I think there is also a lever in the middle of the seats , near the
seat belts).
Should at least give you an idea on what to look for.

I get my wife to do it,
They are apian in the arse set up and It frustrates me no end
mine, is 99 model. They make a motor that will go 500,00ks and cant make a simple
seat system.
Other than that the best car I have had.
never let me down,(only once Got real dodgy fuel at
eucla at xmas cost me a fortune and a graet deal of stress) but not the cars fault.

I have a '96 NJ Pajero. You will see one of those 'pull-up' buttons on the shoulder of both of the back seats. Pull them up, and the
seat back folds down onto the
seat seat. (where yer bum goes!) From here it's just a simple case of lifting the now folded
seat from the back near the floor. They will lock in place once up against the front seats, and you have to pull a release lever to set them back down again. Took me AGES to figure it out when I got
mine.
The lever at the side of the seats just slides the seating position. Hope this helps!
