Hi folks
Trying to order a pair of mirrors for my Troopy. I run the one's that come standard on the Ute's not the useless small one's that come as standard.
They are Britax brand.
Anyone ordered these online? Every link I find is just for wholesalers.
LINK
Thanks
Lyndon

Lyndon,
I'm a little confused about what you are after. Do need mirrors that stand out more than the 340 mm total length that the Britax brand your link goes to?
I have a set of standard mirrors on my earlier HJ75 ute that measure 340 mm from the mounting bracket base to the extremity of the mirror, the same as the Britax..
When we started towing our van some 8 years ago I made up a couple of extension brackets that bolt to the original mounts, the curved bit, and extend the mirrors out another 100 mm or so. I remove the extensions when not towing and re-fit as needed. Takes about the same amount of time it seems to take for others that have those dedicated towing mirrors that attach to the door and window.
If all you are after is that 340 mm length, why not go a wreckers, probably a lot cheaper than buying new.
Cheers

Hi Pop
Yep, I'm just after the 340mm ones you have. Bought
mine new from a truck
shop in
Adelaide when I bought the vehicle. Toyota wanted $220, I paid $66 and got Toyota to fit as part of the delivery :-)
Cheers

Ps. really wanted to get new ones as
mine still look fine but have come loose (mirror moves due to wind).

Lyndon,
I might be telling you something you already know but anyway.
Do you mean the mirrors themselves are loose on the little ball mounting that allows you to adjust them, or loose where the arms swivel on the base mounting plates?
If on the swivel arms then obviously just tighten the bolts and nuts that secure them.
If they are loose on the ball mounts there are a couple of screws that go up into the bottom of the mirror either side of that ball mount. If memory serves me correctly you can tighten these screws which tightens the ball and stops the mirror moving so easily.
Cheers

Dismantle the ball socket and give it a clean up
Maybe try inserting a felt or rubber ( garden tap fitting) washer in their to improve its holding grip
Worth a try
