Can anyone recommend a brand of battery AM FM radio that will give us decent reception while in the more remote areas of Australia. TIA

From previous threads on this site, Yvonne, some have had success with Tecsun brand.
I found them on eBay, a variety of sizes, types and prices. As mentioned above,
the loop antennas work the best, and you don't have to fiddle around with a long wire, hooked up to a convenient tree(if there's any trees where you're camped).
We travelled with friends recently who have a car radio with short wave. They listened to
Alice Springs right across the Simpson, while we had to resort to the "static station", or the iPod.
