Trying to join LCOOL

LCOOL is not a commercial open forum, and does not operate that way. All admin is done by volunteers who do their best with the spare time that is available in a lifetime.

As a member, I'm aware of that Ian. Not sure what you are trying to tell me/others here as I merely suggested that the OP contact Lcool and ask if there was a problem.

Probably should be a reply to me as I put a thread up to see what could be done.

I did that last week and got a automated response but still unable to access.

I joined some years ago but lost my details and have never been able to get back in. Requests for help are ignored and the management of the site provides no help. I have given up on LCOOL

Just rejoin under a new name and with a different email address I write down all my usernames and then I only have to do the lost password bit.
I hadnt been there for ages and had forgotten my password but got back in later the same day after getting an email from them.

I have a standard email address so hard to have a different email address just for this site. I just think the management of the site is not interested in helping people as queries I have posted have always been ignored.

Hahaha, I asked what I thought was a completely innocent question and had searched and there was no specific answer in other threads, but got reprimanded like a school boy so gave up on the site too. Quite a pretentious bunch of Admins in my opinion

LCOOL is a fantastic forum, probably the best you will find for anything Toyota.

Have to disagree about the "pretentious bunch of Admins" they are good people who just try and keep the posts tight to the same subject matter.
Saves a million posts on the same subject, far easier to follow conversations and issues that way.
They are also a bit hard on completion of profiles etc, but thats no issue either in my view.
It's really just tight admin/moderation which I think makes the site one if the best.

Might be a good site if you can get in but for those sitting outside it's really frustrating. I will try to get in again today and report back in 1, 2, 10 days how I get on loghing back in.

@ John, from my perspective if someone asks a legitimate question that has not been asked before, through searching, and someone comes on warning me that the admins are likely to go me then that is a bit of a heads up that they are authoritarian, would not even respond as to why I couldn't ask the question and still to date have no clear answer although I resigned from the site as I am not hanging around to inflate their ego's.

Although it is a good site, with content that in the majority is put there by the members, when the moderation is such that forumites are treated badly and the Admin is such that other people freely warn others about it, then in my opinion they are pretentious

Well obviously LCool has got the message as I have just tried to log in, got failed password, requested new password and am now able to log in again. Many thanks to LCool admin and just shows that sometimes things can be fixed quite quickly.
