During April sometime this year I'm looking at cutting across the lower part of SA on my way to
Coober Pedy and further north.
Considering taking the back road from
Wirrulla to
Kingoonya - Glendambo to cut a few K's from this trip.
Anybody done this way recently and can give advise.
The van isn't an ''offroad'' but as we're in no hurry it shouldn't be any great concern, there will be 2 vans going this way.

It will probably depend on when it was last graded. That could make the difference between a smooth ride like I daughter had a year before us, and the teeth rattler we got a few years ago.

People who camped next to us at
Kingoonya early in September 2016 had towed a Jayco Dove (an old one) through that road that day. They said the road was generally in good condition. The first 90 km south of
Kingoonya had just been graded.
We did the road from
Iron Knob to
Mount Ive Station (a different road but in the same area) a few days later. It was a good road and graders were working on it. I think the roads through the
Gawler Ranges area are generally
well maintained.
Cheers, Kevin
