I have 33's on with a 40mm lift at the front and all is okay. But I think a standard rig might see some fouling on the plastic inner guard. LCOOL will have your answer.

I don't think you will have any problems, it's only a little less than 30mm bigger diameter than the /65.

Your speedo will be accurate too. It cancels out the 4% over read.

Yes they fit. I have had 70s on mine and they worked fine. Speedo is very accurate so beware of speeding. I believe I noticed a small amount of sluggishment due to larger tyre. Jury is still out on whether they altered fuel consumption.

Yes.....i owned a vx with steel bar, scrub bars, and winch on std suspension which was sagged....and 285/70/17 tyres, no scrubbing at any articulation. You will get worse economy, which is partially because your travelling further than indicated (by 4%) but spedo will be accurate....also harder to keep in 6th due to throttle position being further down to maintain momentum.

I ran a set of AT LT tyres and rims for touring and around town - 285 65 17. And a set of muddies that I put on for the High Country. 285 70 17. I swapped them back and forth a few times a year.

The 285 70 17's use 2 - 3 l /100km more fuel and stops the transmission locking up most of the time. You should expect that. Upside is the speedo is accurate.

No problems at all with rubbing, going up a size has a few down sides though....you will find fuel usage increases as it's more right foot to do the same speed, and therefore, getting and keeping it in 6 th gear is harder
