Apparently Flora Valley Station no longer allows public access to Marella Gorge

Yes that’s correct. Real shame to have such an an amazing place and not share it. Spent a few days in there back in 2013 and was looking forward to going back some day. Oh well I guess they have their reasons.

Hi Neil

Yes it is a real pitty that it has been closed and we have our brainless tourists to thank fot that.

When we wanted to go there last year,mwe were told by the Tourist Office in Halls Creek that the owners were sick of the utter mess and rubbish left by countless visitors.

As they always say, it is always a small minority that stuff it up for everyone.

What a shame; that was a fabulous place to stay - why can't people just pick up their mess and leave sites clean for the next users?!!

We stayed in 2008. In 2013 Flora Valley Station advised me that they no longer allowed public access saying "We would like to preserve and protect this area."

The Kimberley has many wonderful gorges, so you will not miss out completely on seeing the beauty of this region.
