Yep, off the smokes for one whole year!
Mind you, I've put on 20 kilo's..........
I have given up once before, but this time just seemed easier, and I've had my share of personal drama's this year, and not even looked at going back.
Now........Fatbastard and Fatman have already been taken. What about Round Wolf?
Yeah, come on......... bring em' in fella's..........

Lone Wolf
well done - keep off them I having been smoking when I have a few beers only - but the other day I saw the results of smoking - one of my work mates only 54yrs died from lung cancer - it happened real quick he had a pain in his chest approx 6 weeks back and he was down
hill quick as. Sure pushed the point
home to me. I have to get off the Coca Cola and take away food to keep my weight down - and a little bit of cycling and walking helps heaps - by the way since stopping the smokes I'm breathing easier.
It makes it even harder when my wife smokes in front of me.

Well done Wolf and all who have given up, or even made efforts to, like others I've have had to deal with the fallout of the dreaded cancer sticks on family members.
I think dropping the extra kilos should be a breeze for a bloke whos had so much else thrown his way and still kicked on, you just have to get motivated.
Send a
pic to a close trusted friend of you in the y fronts, and instruct him/her to post it on the
forum in 12 months if you haven't reached your goal, that should get you going....or make you so nervous you take up the smokes again.

I think quite a few of us have a few extra kilos, we take all sorts of safety gear,
recovery gear, and comunication gear for if things go wrong, but some of us go that extra step and purposely use the body storage system for the added protection of being lost or stranded in the middle of nowhere.
It doesnt have to be carried on the roofrack, or in a drawer, in the back of the car, or even remembered to be packed, and it provides some extra warmth, some shade to loved ones, a bit of comfort when lying on the ground, a larger area of white to flash at the spotter plane and at least a couple of days sustanance. So before thinking 'he's a bit overweight" you should consider that he is just thoroughly prepared for his (or her) outback travels

Congratulations Mate...don't ever go back!
It will be 30 years for me at the end of this year. Went cold turkey after smoking 75 cigs a day.
According to the missus it was also the last time she saw my ribs. Initially I went from 90 kilos(skinny runt) to a lovely rounded 140kilos( had some other problems as well) but have eventually settled down to around 110-115 kilos depending on the season. 190cm helps to spread the blubber around all surfaces.
I am now so anti-smoking that I walk away from conversations or up wind from smokers who smoke near me.
I may have given up cigs but I haven't been able to give up EO...hahahahahaha

Well Lone Wolf,
I can tell you personal experience that smoking is to be given up at any cost, even if you gain some temporary weight.
I gave up suddenly this last March after I had a small heart attack. I had tried in the past to give up, using patches, gum, you name it, but there is nothing like a decent scare to help you to focus and get your priorities right, trouble is that now i am addicted to XXX peppermints. fortunately i have been very lucky and there was no damage.
You were right to drop them before they drop you, congrats chubby wolf hehehe.
