Was wondering if anyone could give me details where I might be able to get a custom made canopy (Aluminium/Canvas) made to fit my Hilux dual cab. I have a tub ute and was looking at getting a hard top, canvas sides canopy made with a roof rack that extends over the roof. I live in
Perth. Cheers. Dotta.

Canvas shouldnt be a problem....any place that sells and make truckie tarps.
a place that makes roof racks...full length ones ...should be able to assist with main structure ...sheet metal
shop and or roof rack people should be able to do the alloy

I looked into a canvas canopy for my Rodeo before getting an ARB one.
I found only one place (in
Brisbane) that actually did the frame and the canvas. Can't remember who they were but they were a ute/4WD type place. Otherwise you have to go to one place for the frame and another fr the canvas. I would expect this would be the case for a custom job anyway.

Thanks for the reply Utemad and I hear what your saying. Have got plenty of
places to go for the canvas but dont know where to go for the frame. Anyway will keep trying. Thanks again.

Wanted to do that with my old dual cab as
well but isn't the ute body seperately rubber mounted to the chassis? As I recall, there was a fair bit of movement between the ute and the cabin - would this be a problem if you get a full length roof rack that is bolted on to both?
Regards,

Diesel Do. Thanks for replying. The ute body is seperate as you said but I have seen hard roof top canopies with cavas sides that reach over the rear half of the dual cab (If that makes sense) in passing but haven't been able to get the manufacturers details. The roof rack from what I have seen doesn't bolt onto the cabin so movement wouldn't be a drama. Anyway I'll push on. Thanks again.

Yeah the tray moves separate to the cab but the racks that extend over the cab don't actually touch the cab.
