I am using a Supercharge MF77HSS which has been going fine for a couple of years.
However, I think Duncan's above would be a better
battery.

Just an experience i had last week with my 2017 bt 50... Start
battery had been discharging for no apparent reason at odd times over last few weeks..
Last week it finally discharged to 10.5 v overnight , jump started it to drive to auto elec , gearbox wouldnt change gears properly and engine warning light appeared on dash.
Mechanic replaced
battery and reset engine warning light advising me that there were multiple auto gearbox codes registered that is caused by low voltage...
it appears that low voltage causes gearbox malfunctions which need to be cleared by a decoder...

Not sure if anyone is doing this, but using a small solar panel, maybe on roof or in window, with it's own small regulator to maintain the "Start"
battery charge level when stopped might be good to have. If it prolongs the
battery life and avoids sudden problems of low voltage as is detected by the ECU, then it would seem to be a distinct benefit.

I have fitted a Powertech dual
battery charge controller to my vehicle . It is programmable to send say 10% of power from solar panels to start
battery and 90% to rear
battery or visa versa or other say 50% to each, It also senses if start
battery requires power and charges that one as a priority,
About $30 to $40 or thereabouts at jaycar.
i fitted it to ensure starter
battery was always topped up...
