Mitchell Falls Road open

Hi All,
FINALLY the road to the Mitchell Falls has been opened at 4.30 pm today to all high clearance vehicles. Hopefully this being open will stop the thousands of call we have been getting asking us, when we were also unable to answer the question.
So the Kalumburu Road is open as far as the turn off to Mitchell Falls, then the ' plateau track' Port Warrender Road is open through to the the Mitchell Falls.
All SWEK roads can be checked here
https://www.swek.wa.gov.au/services/roads-drainage/road-conditions.aspx
Then click on road condition report.

The road from the Port Warrender turn off to Kalumburu is NOT open ( serious wet season damage) and anyway access to Kalumburu community is at this point also NOT yet open.
Access to the community can be checked on this web page, just google the words and the choice will come up, the page address is a mile long which is why I didn't post it.

Zoom in map shows current access status for all remote communities in WA.
cheers, Anne

Stayed at Drysdale,2 Weeks ago ,missed out on driving up to the Falls, but did enjoy the 3 hour plane flight, which took us over the falls, a big thank you to the 2 Pilots with one giving commentary.
