I’ve given my beloved Disco to my son, and decided to keep the LX470 as my bush vehicle. It’s done 460k and still runs sweetly. It served as the family car when new, and has since done several very remote desert trips including off track in
the desert to confluence points. The immediate concern is that the automatic height control is getting tired. It is no longer possible to set to the high position, and with a load on it sinks to the low position during cruising. I suspect the problem is leaking hydraulic dampers.
I can either get the AHC refurbed, or fit a totaly new
suspension.
Does anyone have any experience, or recommendations for
suspension specialists in Victoria who can handle the task? (I’d prefer to avoid Toyota/Lexus dealers as I’ve had some bad experiences)
