We want to buy the Telstra Cel-Fi Go. Unfortunately, i am not handy and am therefore looking for a workshop near
Stockton Beach/
Newcastle or
Coffs Harbour. Can someone please recommend something there?

Find out who is your local reseller and see if they will install it.
Most UHF sellers should have someone to do it for you.

Before you lash out for one of those things, read this article -

Great advice from Peter D, A Cel Fi go is nowhere nears as good as a Nighthawk router as explained in the linked article.

That reviewer is sponsored by guess which items he recommends. ....

I don't think "sponsored by" is a correct term. He seems to be a sales agent for some of the equipment. His support for some of the equipment is much the same as the text in the Celfi-Go repeater system website, it is also no less believable than the Celfi-Go blurb. The authour has expended sound advice, it also applies to equivalent equipment, some of which he has included in the article.
The underlying message is that by using equipment that uses
MIMO technology, you can get a far superior system for half the price of the Celfi-Go system. See also -
Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO). Most of the better wireless modems opperate on the MIMO principle.

Hi Tony,
Regardless if he is sponsored by the product manufacturer or not, the information provided is accurate. The Nighthawk router is much more efficient than the CelFi Go.

I've been contemplating installing a system like the one in that article. What gives the biggest improvement - the directional antenna, or the Nighthawk modem? I'd have thought that it was the antenna, but that's not the tone of the discussion here. Or are people simply assuming that in using a Nighthawk a directional antenna is also used?
Is the M5 worth getting over the M2? Seems you have to be a Telstra customer to be able to buy an M5, and I assume being a Boost customer doesn't count.

It does not matter if you have a directional antenna or an omnidirectional one. It is the gain of the antenna that counts most. If you get a mobile Celfi-Go unit you will probably be offered an omni model. If you are using a wireless modem with an omnidirectional MIMO antenna with similar or greater gain than the Celfi-Go antenna you will have much better performance. If you use a higher gain directional antenna you will get a far bigger increase in the gain over the Celfi-Go. The important bit is the MIMO operation. The Nighthawk modem operating bareback up a pole will also out preform a Celfi-Go with its inbuilt antennas.
Netgear Nighthawk M2 4G Mobile Router is available through JB-HiFi. If you really require the M5 get it direct from
Nighthawk M5 5G WiFi 6 Mobile Router Unlocked.
Does anyone know if there is any advantage of having the M5 over the M2 when you are out in the bush where 5G is not available? I deliberately rejected the M5 when I upgraded.

Another much cheaper option which usually works
well if there is a poor signal is to put the nighthawk in a cliplock bag and tie it to the top of your mast or pole, its usually gets a better signal when higher.
We use a fibreglass telescopic squid or fishing pole to raise the modem higher mounted in a couple of brackets on the bullbar or rear tyre carrier.
