I recently become a member and am finding the track logs difficult to use. I tried to put in a day of 4wd a specific day to see my track log. It asked for selected position what does that mean. I must admit i do find it difficult to easily navigate this App. My main objective is to track my days driving in the bush and to keep a recorded log of the tracks i went on for future reference is this possible.
Any advice or suggestions on how to use this App would be appreciated at the moment i dont use it because it is complicated.

Willy,

What you need to do is use the LHS menu and select Export to Track Log. When this page comes up put in the Start Date and End Date for the tracking you wish to export. Once you enter to two dates the system will draw a map of the data that is present in the file. Once the map shows the data you are after enter a Name and press Create Track Log.

You can optionally elect to include positions within Geofence and/or trim/crop the file to some exact times if needed.

The date you have selected has no data recorded so impossible to create a Track Log for that day.

Is there any instructions on how to set up the Apps so that Track logs can be created.

Yes all the instructions are given but its very straight forward. Current User Manual dated Feb 2022 has Track Logs page 24-28. The current User Manual is always in the app and also on the Traveller webpage - https://www.exploroz.com/traveller .

Do you understand that the Traveller app records position data automatically every time it is running? You can't see the data - it's huge obviously (buts there's literally thousands of positions recorded to capture a short trip). The whole idea of creating Track Logs is to convert this collection of lat/long positions and connect them together chronologically and show them on a map. This is done by our server so when you Export Positions the app will convert the data and create the Track Log. It can do this when offline in the app but when online it will sync the saved Track Log to your online account/saved on our server for backup/other uses.

So, simply open the menu in the Traveller app - select Export Positions and select a date you know you had the app running when you were moving. Press Create Track Log. Everyone has access to do this.

If no positions for that date, nothing has been recorded because the app wasn't running OR you've since uninstalled the app from that device hence deleting it. There is no other way to create a Track Log if the data isn't there.

Members do have a secondary option for creating Track Logs however. It's available only if they have previously enabled the Tracker service on a device which has initiated a continuous feed/sync of the positions data from your device/s to your account on our server. Server Tracking. So, Members could take a look at their Server Tracking and press SAVE to make a Track Log.

NOTE: the app will "auto save" a Track Log from Server Tracking anytime you LEAVE a Geofence.

Do you have to have the App open for it to be recording logs in order to create track logs at a later date.

Yes, the app can't record if it's not running.

How do i fix that. I have turned on the tracker so don't understand why.

Willy, you don’t need the tracker turned on for this.

Did you actually travel anywhere on the 26th?

Are you you using the device that you travelled with when you try to create this way.

Hi Trevor

Yes i went 4wd from 25-27th. I just find it impossible to navigate this App. It is the most confusing set up i have ever seen and the manual and Youtube videos are not helpful. I have tried following them but nothing i try works. I will not be renewing my subscription it has been a total waste of alot of money.

Slow down & take a breath. A deep breath by the sounds of things.

Have you tried Export Position from the left hand menu? , just make sure it is on the same device that you used on your trip.

Yes tried that. I have resigned to the fact that this App is not for me. The complicated set up is to difficult to use. Its a shame because i was looking forward to being able to keep a record of my 4wd trips. I will try and find another tracking App that is easier to use.

This is interesting, I found it easy to create a track log from the snail trail from days of driving but since my membership expired last month and I renewed it everything seems impossible.
I can't for the life of me get "create track" to appear from the 2 ways the manual says too, and how I used to do it.
Incredibly frustrated after just doing a 4 day trek with no record of it..
