Hi there. I'm new to Exploroz. Although I was also registered many, many years ago when I was more active in the 4x4 travel and play. My second rising is unusually relevant to my thread/query. In searching for a Phoenix Scorpion caravan...one of the older Davidson built ones with the cut off dovetail. There would not be too many of them left I'm guessing.
Please get in touch if you have one to sell or know of someone who has one. I'm prepared to travel to pick one up.
I've had a couple of the older Phoenix caravans over the years and I've been very happy with them. The new ones look fantastic too...I just wish I could afford one :)
Cheers and thanks for reading my post.

G'day Cruiser,
I remember your name from years back, if you Google Phoenix caravans a few crop up, but i'm not sure about which one is the cut off dove tail.
cheers

G'day bazenpud. You have a good memory. Thanks for your reply. There's a small number of regular Phoenix's for sale around. The early Scorpion model is getting hard to find. I don't think they made too many of them.
The early Scorpion model had a very noticeable departure angle. They called it a Scorpion as in a Scorpion with its tail in the air. Dove tail is another term for the departure angle.
Cheers

Maybe have a look at a Coromal 505 XC Pioneer like mine.
Although they are just as hard to find as I when I bought mine last year it was the only one in OZ for sale.

They may be good vans, but Barry Davidson's vans were the ultimate.
