Thank you Richard, that's lovely for you to post this. Yes we like to ensure that people recognise that due to the ability to put the app on a phone you have all the essential ingredients to use it no matter what mode of travel you are using.
Phones are actually excellent devices to use for offline mapping and navigation - they have high resolution screens, built in GPS for offline location tracking, huge storage, and much faster CPU/GPU than larger devices due to the volume of phone sales all the best hardware investment is put into phones so don't discount using them. And most people already have one!
You'd be amazed at the diverse user-group of people using the
ExplorOz Traveller app. It's far beyond just 4WD, caravanning, camping. And even more than cyclists, adventure bikers, and hikers. We also have pilots, prospectors, SES, fire and emergency users, plus drillers, miners and exploration geologists, and farmers too!
Most have lifestyle reasons that mean they don't care to stand out on social media, and don't consider using this
Forum either so you don't get to see them "publicly". But like most users, we get to speak to them at some point either by phone, or email. Some of the best
feedback for creative development of features has come from communication with, and consideration of, the broader app user profile.
