I notice tickets for the Birdsville Cup early next month are being promoted via on-line sales - is that now essential, or can you still purchase at the gate?
It's a few years since we last attended, and I can hardly see the point of buying on-line for an event where capacity is not an issue - unless that's no longer the case.
Thanks

I suspect it has a lot to do with planning and resource needs.
The Big Red Bash and Mundi Mundi do the same.
It is a sign of the times.

I purchased tickets when they first became available, as according to the Race Club website the QLD gov put a limit on the crowd numbers and to comply they were only preselling tickets. This apparently was a COVID decision & I don’t know if it still applies.

Thanks Gordon; will bite the bullet, just to be on the safe side - I note they skin you for a $20 booking fee as well, just to make sure they don't miss an opportunity !!
