Im trying to route from Liverpool area to Yerranderie (nsw), the app draws the longest slowest tar route it can via Oberon or via Goulburn, completely ignoring the obvious route mittagong/wombeyan/werrong
How can i tell the app it needs to use off road mode and use actual dirt roads?

Just drive it.. no need to route, I never route with ExplorOz personally.. its much more fun and you've got a great situational awareness of where you are, where you're going and the lay of the land...

OK not much help sorry.

Try it again using cycling mode. Works for me. I don't know the road but I assume that's the route you want. You will need to type in a higher average speed when setting the mode.

This is one of those frustrations with EoT, but I can usually get it to choose the route I want my mode selection and adding waypoints.

I stand corrected, the cycling option didn't give you the route you wanted in this particular instance. But Google often doesn't find the route you want either, esp when it comes to dirt roads. Route planning can be an art.

Yes do the Mittagong route, your ordinary GPS will find it once you get to Mittagong. Its a nice drive. Michael

Enter the in between places you mention to steer it your way and yep try adjusting any segments that don’t go the way you want by inserting more places and if necessary change mode to cycling which works well when there’s dirt roads that driving mode doesn’t pick up. Check out the video on this on our YT channel. Auto routing tips and hacks.
