Has anyone got a Slide-it Solutions Australia tilt slide with a 40l Engel. It doesn’t have a strut to assist lower/raising. I am concerned about how hard it will be for my partner with a full fridge to use.

Hi Kevin,
Looking at the product info, it doesn't "lower/raise" it tilts from about the centre balance point so would not need a lever as do the "lowering" types.

As far as I am aware the "slide-it" tilt slide is the only tilt that DOESN'T have strut assist.

"Slide-it Solutions Australia" claim to be different to "all other slides" in that they do not tilt around the rear end point but rotate at the fridge mid-point and remain in balance. I would imagine that accordingly they do not require any "strut assist".
However, because of the central rotation point, they would not lower as much and therefore may not be as accessible as others. There is always the option of getting a taller wife. LOL

Alan probably more cost efficient to get her a set of high heels. A wife swap out is very expensive, a bit like starting afresh building a new touring vehicle

Yes, your'e right Alby. I did "build a new touring vehicle" to appease my wife. It seemed the wisest choice apart from any economic consideration!

@Yackandandah
Why not a 'relatively cheap slide if you need one and use a folding step to access the fridge. $800 is one hell of a cost for solving a simple problem.
Alternatively:
The folding step can store at the rear of the fridge, just inside the tailgate/door. If a rear door vehicle, you didn't say, your close to the fridge and not 1/2 a tailgate away.
Some people have a fridge on a ply board with edges captured in a ply channel sides and the whole thing slides out on Laminex strips which provide low friction for the loaded fridge. Replace strips when/if worn out.
I wouldn't pay $200 for the first one on the page as it is simply added weight although aluminium.
A lot of drawer systems and fridge slides use up valuable load carrying capacity as they might hold up a bloke in the drawer or on the slide but the weight!

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I have a existing fridge slide setup in a canopy. The purpose of the post was only to get feedback from others that have the slide-it slide.

Just found this option - Universal Tilt Fridge Slide Adapter from USA.

This one looks to be able to be fitted under a normal fridge slide. I already have 2 fridges on slides that are fitted to the top lid of my drawers. I had to modify the width so that they fit directly to the top lid of the drawers, the width was reduced from 550mm to 500mm so any standard tile or drop slide would be wider than 500mm, I think the smallest is 550mm.

The postage from USA might bring the price up to high but looking at them, I think it would be fairly easy to make your own and can possibly work out the dimensions from their photos.

Even easier, a piano hinge and a bit of angle - DIY Fridge Tilt Slide

Probably cost all of about $30

I have my fridge on fridge slide cost a bit over $200 and use a $20 plastic step to see into the fridge. Been doing that for around 10 yrs no problems. It's a good sturdy step not flimsy rubbish and can be used for other things like when I done my wheel bearings or working under the bonnet for that bit extra height it has endless uses.
If you get a tilt fridge slide everything will slide to one end and it would take longer to shuffle things around and pack or reorganize as you don't want some items squashed.
