Used van purchase Jayco expanda or Windsor Rapid

Looking at a second hand poptop caravan between 1400-1600kg Atm. Jayco expanda and Windsor rapid seem to fit my requirements, with space and towing limitations. (VW multivan) Anyone have any experience with either of these vans looking at around 14-15ft, with pop out beds at each end. First impressions is Windsor vans look a bit better build but jayco maybe a bit lighter. Mainly 2001 -2009 models seem to be in budget. Any advise or experience with these models welcome, thanks Brett.

My son recently purchased a 17ft Jayco Expanda privately.
He weighed it when he got
home and the empty weight was a tad less than the ATM (like less than 100kg).
DO NOT hand any money over until you get it weighed.
He spent a bundle of $$$$s and gave it aftermarket HD Toyota 90 series rear springs, 3T axle and wheels and tyres that were compatible with his Paj.
It is now a MUCH better van, but KNOW what you are buying.

Hi,
I had an early model that went around Australia. 2008?
Leaf springs and double enders. The usual problems with all vans and all easy to fix. Just look at the pop top tensions springs and the screws holding the poptop fabric as rust is the enemy.
Springs can be sand blasted and painted and the screws are replaced with stainless.
I added boxes to the front. See pics.

Had a Rapid, only went to an Expanda as we couldn't find a Rapid with a shower and dunny. Rapid better build quality, right down to things like zippers and latches. Older Expandas have soft ends which can mean wet pack up. Regardless of which you go with, if you're chasing one with A/C make sure it is a roof mount, they work much better.
