Morning all.
Does anyone have a half decent map of the area North of the Zig-Zag railway near
Lithgow. We have been up there quite a few times, and have explored different bits, but we are now looking for a bit of a bigger picture.
We are looking for something that has all those little tracks that 90% of the time lead nowhere, but still have to be explored.....
thanks all.

Chumps,
I've done a bit of exploring in that area, both by 4x4 and on foot and from what I have been able to find there is not an accurate map of the area available. The best are the 1:25000 topographics from Central Mapping but the old ones were don in the early 70's and as you can imagine are pretty ordinary by now. These were re-mapped in the last couple of years so should be better but I have not used them so couldn't say for sure.
There is a good map
shop in Rockdale just opposite the old Town Hall tehy were very helpful but again it is a couple of years since I have been in there.
Good Luck
Duncs.

Thanks for that Duncs.
I have the 2 CMA maps, but i keep finding all sorts of tracks that just aren't on them. Even half the power lines are not shown!
It is good to know there are new maps done - I will go looking for them.

Yeah thats what I found Chumps.
I figured that the only way to know for sure was to fire up a GPS and plot the lot for myself. However living in
Broken Hill I don't get the chance to explore in that part of the world much these days

The map
shop at Rockdale should have topo maps on that area, they have just about everything.
Cheers
