I have recently come across an 88 swb 2.5L TD and i am wondering what its fuel consumption is and its power. any other info on this will be greatly appreciated.

Phillip The best way to judge its power is to drive it if you can. I drove one some time ago and found its acceleration extremely poor but it towed my 16ft caravan quite
well and I'm sure it was OK in low range in high country. Terribly sluggish in city traffic and highway overtaking though. Similar I think to the TD Landrover Discovery - very poor highway performance but OK off road and gives good fuel economy. Guess it depends on what you want but do keep in mind that even the most avid off roader spends a lot of time on the highway.
