Place Comment: Roto

The OP has Commented on a Place - the place is linked to the top of this post. For nearly 20 years this Forum has always shown Place comments the same way. If you want to see the official Place description click the header “Related Place”.

Get with the times mate - there's this new thing out now called "google" and it's quite clever actually, you can type in Roto and Toby Price ( a famous Aussie who won the Dakar on motorcycle twice ) and it will give you all the information you need !

You can also type in Dakar if you haven't heard of that yet !

Thanks, I know this is the way, but no one ever says why or anything about the very short statements they make and so I wonder why they don't at least say NSW / Bike rider or similar as well, usually nothing!

You KNOW GARRY, That s exactly what I did and ROTO DID NOT APPEAR. I have been a motorcyclist for decades BUT unless taking particular interest in DAKAR racing, I wouldn't possible have heard of Toby Price, and I haven't . If I ever have, interesting at the time but wasn't important enough to keep remembering the event.

RMD the point here is that OP didnt create a Forum post - he was looking at a Place (Roto) and wrote a Review/Comment - this was cross linked to the Forum. At the top of the post appearing in the Forum is the Title Place Comment and a link to the related Place so that if you are interested about the Place you can click to see where it is (map included) and see the description of the Place.The OP doesnt need to give any of that info - just their own contribution/comment or review of the place.

Toby price won the finke in a trophy truck in 21 ,22 , 23 & many times on a bike
One year rode bike & drove a trophy truck by getting helicoptered between the bike & car legs .search finke dessert race hall of fame sorry but couldn't get link to work .

This is the sort of basic information the OP could allude to, so people see the relevance of ROTO /Toby Price. as the only info. If you already know then there is no need to know again!

No RMD it is not the OPs obligation to do that in a Place comment. That info already exists in the Place description. You can click the Place to read this description if you're interested.

RMD when I posted the comment on the Place page field I was not aware that it also appeared in the Forum as well, I would have included a bit more info about Toby Price and Roto. Thanks to all of the other contributors who dragged my a## out of the fire!
I plan to ride through Roto around Easter and thought that it deserved some small recognition.
Similar to Keith, SA, which is the birthplace of the late Andy Caldecott. Look him up in google. ??

I watched a young Andy Caldecott with his long black hair come 3rd in the Australian Junior Championships at the Dargle Motocross track many many years ago !

Sadly - I only came third racing sidecars the same weekend ( due to a minor mechanical issue )

I also raced at Keith numerous times both on solos and sidecar.

Was a very sad day for many people when he crashed fatally in the 2006 Dakar !
