Imported GPX trail disappears from EOTopo mid- trail

I am having problems with using Traveller with imported trail tracks.
In this instance the GPX trail overlaid onto the ELTopo just dropped off the main map mid-journey. The GPX file and track preview was still visible on the folder, but did not stay on the main map.
Nothing could fix this on the trail (re-boots, online, offline data modes ect).
Luckily I carry a compass, but I lost the trail and couldn’t retrieve it.
Has anyone else had this issue and is there a fix?
