Hi all,

Geoff here - just joined

Looking for some advice please

I am travelling the Stuart highway to Daly River beginning the trip next week. Given the current flooding on the Daly I am looking at taking more time for the trip than originally planned

Looking for recommended camping spots, probably off the main highway, to spend some time on the way up. Specifically any spots with a waterhole or creek - looking for a more pleasant spot than just a highway stop

Happy to travel a reasonable distance off the main road

Any suggestions welcome

Thanks
Geoff

There are probably more water holes than desirable up there at the moment, but they might be gone in a week?
If it is open, we can always spend a couple of weeks along the Oodnadatta Track. There is always something new to see.

Geoff.
Being from Adelaide, I hope you are aware that creeks & waterholes up north and ESPECIALLY around DALY may contain LARGE BITING LIZARDS. They can be anywhere near or IN water holes etc, AFTER A FLOOD EVENT. Can your accomplice drive the rig IF you suddenly disappear?

Hi Geoff

Not sure if you have seen the many reports, but every Outback Road in the Northern Parts of our State (South Australia) and many areas in the Territory have been smashed with rain, including Alice Springs and in the Daly River area.

At this stage you will be sticking to the bitumen.
