Hey guys, thanks for all you work on this, great App.

Question, do I need to have EOTopo 2026 to enjoy the 3D contour? I can only see the contours lines on the map as a flat map

TroyR,

I added 3D terrain to the latest 10 release of the app and it will work with older EOTopo licenses. As this was a new feature and has a large impact on device performance I delliberatly kept it a little quiet. I also need to build a new hillshade and terrain dataset to remove some errors that are visible within the current dataset. But enough of the excuses and reasons, to make it work do this:
Go in the app to the LHS menu and select Settings - Map Screen - 3D Pitch Display Mode - set it to 65, under this setting will be a new setting called Use 3D Terrain - turn this on. Then on the main map screen when you Toggle 3D button it will render in 3D mode, couple this with the Extended Keyboard controls and you can move around the map quickly in 3D mode.

G'day David & Michelle,
Traveller app is a great companion & we use it every day on our trips & around our local area of the Grampians. Great to see you are including some walking tracks as we are 4wd & walking enthusiasts.
Thanks for the tip of using the distance tool for offline route definition. We are offline a lot & generally deviate to POI found on the app & told about by fellow travellers.
Iwe love how everything just works without having to read the manual all the time.
Cheers
Stu

G’day Stu,

That’s great to hear — and the Grampians is a perfect place to use it. You’re very lucky to have that as your local — I’m a bit jealous!

The walking tracks have been part of the EOTopo detail since around the 2021 edition, but we get more data every year and for this 2026 edition we did put quite a bit of refinement work into the bike and hike trail network specifically to make sure the output was exactly how we wanted it. We are thrilled with now having the display of graded (green, blue, black) MTB trails for the first time!

Glad the distance tool tip was useful — simple feature, but very handy when you’re offline and making decisions on the fly.

Really appreciate the feedback.

Cheers,
Michelle

Mum & David video is great, Fi took us back to Tassie for a couple of weeks, without the van, so we can wander everywhere. Great work David, always has been - we use it every day when in the bush or unfamiliar areas.
