We are thinking about the GSR in June. While we accept that diesel will be expensive, does anyone out there have recent experience with availability? Don't want to get stuck mid-way with diesel not being available!!!!

Have a look on Petrol Spy - if there is no price for a particular fuel, they don't have it in stock.

Some of them are so out of date, they are unreliable. Much prefer wheels on the road and actual experiences!!!

.
I would expect some risk with fuel availability at some Aboriginal Communities. Even in good times I had a couple of occasions when I was greeted with "Sorry mate, the fuel truck is late and we are empty". That could be an even greater risk at the present.
Furthermore, if supply was uncertain I would expect the Community to reserve it for their own use and not supply the tourist trade.
Not saying that this is going to happen but there may be some risk and you need to plan to be able to reach a following pump if you do encounter it.
Cheers
Allan

Phone numbers are readily available. Call them. Get it from "the horse's mouth".
