I intend to buy a second hand Landcruiser to travel Oz for a year. I want a troopy model, and to carry a tinny on the roof. What advice can you guys give for a beginner? Around what price should I expect to pay for an 1980's model in reasonable condition that will make it through
the desert?
thanks
adam

Adam I have seen the troopy's for under ten grand up here in the territory from around that vintage. Best advice I can give you is spend a little bit of money and get a qualified mechanic to go over it. Mates are handy for a bit of an opinion and we all mean
well but if your thinking of doing what I think you are spending three or four hundred on a few different vehicles (alltogether that is) is going to save you in the long run. Good choice but remember you only get what you pay for and mechanical repairs in the bush can be costly. Parts should be plentiful though. All the best.
Regards
John
