I am interested in fitting an overhead console into a hilux anyone know how these are fitted to the roof. Think I will make it myself, I have seen them of course but never really thought to ask how they are fitted. Thanks to all who reply.

There are plates in the roof space between the liner and the actual roof. The consoles are made with screw holes which fit the screw holes in these plates, so they simply screw in. A bit of research involved.

4WD interiors have a system where the console attaches to the mounting points under the existing dome light and rear view mirror. They show this on their website (www.4wdinteriors.com.au). I would prefer to do this rather than put additonal holes in the roof lining.
