Am considering converting 99 Jackaroo V6 petrol to LPG. The jackaroo is a manual used for towing a van weighing about 2 tonne fully laden. Can anyone comment on the suitability and merits of this? Also, what sort of fuel economy could be expected on LPG? My current fuel economy when towing ranges from about 19L/100km to 21.5L/100km.

i had a v6 rodeo (similiar engine to jackeroo)and it was real thirsty when towing between 18 to 25 lper100 and i considered gas but people told me to trade in on a diesel as gas isnt always available and the price of gas is rising (they said it wouldnt) which therefore makes it a long time before the conversion pays for itself pre gst i had a qoute of about $2500. if you do go for the gas use the impco system your holden dealer will know this
have fun

Many thanks for your comments on LPG conversion. Since posting my question I have made further inquiries and most advise along lines similar to you. My local Holden dealer does not recommend conversion. I think I will continue as is for the moment and consider a diesel later! Your comments are much appreciated.
