I notice in the fuel price site that there is no price for diesel at Rabbit Flat. We have read that it does have diesel but only accepts cash. If anyone's trekked across the Tanami lately could you give us an indication of the cost of diesel please?

Robyn
fuel at Rabbit Flat was $1.55 per litre last week of July 2002.
Bruce will take eftpos as
well as cash but not credit cards.

CRIKEY! That's nearly as dear as the price of fuel in the
Latrobe Valley [Gippsland].

Sorry that was tongue-in-cheek..... diesel is always in the mid 90c range while an hour towards
Melbourne it is consistently 14 to 15c cheaper. We get very grumpy about this. Further away from
Melbourne it gets cheaper again.

Robyn the price of fuel at rabbit flat varies from day to day depending on the mood that the old frenchman is in !!! (I worked at a
mine near there for 3 years.)
Ps..The value on the pump is multiplied by 2( the designers of the old bowser never imagined that fuel would go over $1.00/l !! )
don't get caught out.
