Hello,
Can people give me an idea of what they think are reasonable prices for basic HF set ups (radio + whip antenna+ relevant channels). I know there are various models/years so just for starters what would the following be roughly worth (in good cond) - Codan 8525B, Codan 8528, Codan 9323 (all remote heads). I notice there is a few on ebay and trading post etc at the moment and want to get an idea of what is a good price.
Thanks
FM

G'day, can't tell you what a reasonable price is, but go for an 8528 or 9323 rather than an 8525, as parts are not available for the 8525 anymore, and I've been reduced to cannibalising other 8525's to keep mine going. Cheers, Alex.

Peter (or anyone else with info) is it possible to get a radio that covers vks737 and rfds and not all the other frequencies that Codan/Barrett cover and is therefore less expensive?

Have used 8825 in the past and currently still use an old Codan 7727 with multi-tap aerial. Has two VKS-737 and eight RFDS Freqs. Gives me Oz-wide coverage and cost $750 about a year ago. If you're on a budget check out www.desertaccess.com.au/ as they often have some very good used HF deals.
Cheers, Cruiser

A good 8528 could go for up to $2000 with an antenna, 9323's seem to sell for $2500-$2800 if in good condition with autotuner.
