I am currently trying to get out of my Avalon as it is time to more into a 4by type of vehicle or even awd.

Now I am not towing and won't be doing anything the young fellas get up to so I was just after some opinions . Budget is up to $42,000

One thing. IT MUST BE JAPANESE BUILT !!!!!!

Thanks in advance guys.

Vic

YOU ACTUALLY BOUGHT AN AVALON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ROTFLMBAO

Congratulations for considering "upgrading" from a TAXI!!!!

I should have added the Avalon as another one of Toyotas gems in the "...Territory..." thread. What a stroke of genius, attatch a heavy 10 year old body (converted from LHD) to a n Australian floorpan. What do you end up with??? an absolute abomination to drive (too much weight outside the whelbase/track, lurches like the American tank it was derived from. My father was the other person that bought one, has regretted it ever since.

If you want a 4WD/AWD why not a Celica GT-4? It'll get you anywhere you want to go, after all, it is a Toyota..........

(Caveat: May not get you home, though)

After absolutely bagging everyone/everything that is not Toyota, how can you honestly expect to get ANY meaningful replies to your question????

That's what I don't like about some of these little buzz boxes with IFS!
A little lump in the ground like that and it's already got a wheel in the air!

Do you know how small this "little buzz box" is ?

Its the same size as a Chrysler Voyager , which is roughly the same size , as a Patrol (actually its bigger in some areas).

By the way . . . I was only mucking around . . .

How ugly are they . . . .

New or Second Hand?

The Government auctions are great for low K, reasonably priced 4x4's, if you have patience for the right one to come along at the right price....

Lucky Vic.

It would seem a Nissan Patrol is a good option. But be aware you will pay more for fuel. Maybe you can get hold of a Jackaroo and you should have some change to buy a few bits and pieces to help you enjoy the great outdoors

If you are going for a new one:

for AWD: Toyota Cluger
for FWD: Nissan Pathfinder, Toyota Hilux, Basic Prado GX without Air Con ;-)
Also Compact fwd/awd: X-Trail, CR-V, RAV4.....

Ok let me guess,

You want someone to say that you should get the toyota hilux. Better still the NEW hilux. After all you are a toyota dealer right?

"BACK TRACKS posted this followup

Yes I know it says that.

All I can say is that I am in a position to know this is happening. Believe me or not you will soon know the truth and look back and think that guy did know what he was talking about.

It is going to happen .

I am the finance manager in a big Toyota dealership :)

"I am the finance manager in a big Toyota dealership"

Oh my sides are hurting, please stop it...
Hes a school kid. A finance manager? LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nobody in a position that senior would act like such a twonk, post such bias dribble, and then quote sites from overseas instead of from Toyota's own site in Aussie.

The other day he OWNED a GQ and I quote "WE DRIVE THE SAME VEHICLE"...

Also a 500k klms+ LC100, an Avalon, AND a Pirus, and others not Yota branded....
