If it wasn't for circuit breakers I'd have a smouldering heap sitting in the driveway rather than a Terracan (no jokes about that being an improvement).

Came home from an overnighter in the bush and when I lifted the fridge out of the back I forgot to unplug it from the aux battery (in the back of the car) and it got wrenched out as I removed the fridge. Got it inside and checked the Hella/Waeco plug only to find the little protruding bit missing (it had snapped off). I then went looking for it in the back of the car and eventually found it inside the female plug on the battery box. As I tried to fish it out lots of sparks. Had the circuit breaker not been there it would have shorted the minute it snapped off and by the time I went looking for the bit, the car would have been on fire.

Moral of the story is ALWAYS fit a circuit breaker or fuse.

I'm putting my book about me on hold for the time being.

Cheers,

Jim.

I reckon "unplug the fridge first " might be a pretty good moral too .

Yeah did two simple things wrong today .
Wouldn't go in gear ,doh foot on the brake ya dill .Took five to work it out .
And . opened the door with the key and woke the neighbourhood up with the alarm .
My moral is read and remember the manual .

Get ready for another one.

You'll find the central locking mysteriously locks the car itself. Turns out that as you turn the key you accidentally press the lock button on the key (it is sensitive).

I really so much want to go camping with you.

As long as you take your own car, fridge, tent, food, fuses..................

Hey, I don't feel quite so stupid now.

I just went down to the Supermarket and the kid behind the jump is wearing a dirty big eye patch.

"How did you do that?" says I.

He replies "I got hit in the eye with one of those" pointing to one of those divider thingies you use to separate your groceries from the next customer's.

"Did someone throw it at you?" I ask.

"No" he replies, "I was trying to shoo away a fly and hit myself in the eye with it".

Fortunately no serious damage.

Ozi,

The only person who laughs with you is you.

The rest of us laugh at you.

I can take the p!ss out of myself. I don't have a problem with me.

Where is "hl". I'm sure he'll be around soon to support you. LMAO.

Cheers,

Jim.

Yes Jimbo, there is really no requirement for you to advertise the fact you have a sense of humour, because we are aware you have that, LoL, and I also can see the point you were making, using humour as the catalyst about having a decent fuse in the fridge power cable :-)

0zi must be bored or something, cause we all are aware you are a perfectionist and with a sense of humour as well, I can't see the problem in being honest, (that must what 0zi is referring to) and stating you blew a 20 cent fuse instead of burning the 4b to the ground:-(

Well I had a quiet laugh at the humour evident in your post, question now is what type of connection, if you do change, will you use to replace the damaged one?

Mainey,

The battery box has a circuit breaker in it that resets itself, so when a goose like me throws it, it automatically resets when the circuit is clear. Much better than a fuse.

Cheers,

Jim.
