Lone Wolf
..... leap into the 21 st. Century!
Bought a Magellam eXplorist GPS. One of those really little buggers. No plugs for power or computer or antenna, just your basic unit.
Entered in all of the Co-ords for the
Oodnadatta Track last night, so.......... all ready to
rock 'n 'roll.
Funny thing though........... where I live, it can't pick up enough satellites, because we live in a gully with a
cliff & stuff, so I went to the oval, and took my dog, Kobi.
Normally we walk 2 - 3 laps, clockwise, but the little bugger was all confused, 'cause I was walking in triangles & stuff, totally ignoring him.......... poor little bugger. My head was permanently bowed down over the GPS, and I never gave Kobi a glance. He stayed by my feet through ALL of the triangles I made, and even backtracked with me!
Here's the thing........... I even set a POI ( waypoint ), where he dumped on the oval! Now I can see if he does it there again, and if his nose is more accurate than the GPS.

Since Dad didn't have a plug to connect up to the computer, Kobi thought he'd lay some cable.

Willem
Grasshopper, you are not being helpful to Wolfie in rationalising this purchase.
Suggestion: Maybe Mrs Wolfie could enter some waypoints to help Wolfie when he is groping in the dark.
There, that is how to make a helpful suggestion.
