Does anyone have experience with the "Homier International" brand of hi lift jack. I have been unable to find where these are made. They sound comparable to the ARB product at 48" and rated to 3.5 tonnes but are considerably cheaper. Feedback apreciated.

Rick

Local Law,

I guessed it would be China, it is an ebay job. I was trying to guage the quality of the unit becuase of the safety implications. If in doubt I won't go ahead, but if the quality is OK then it could be a good deal.

Cheers,

Rick

Probably not.

Hi Lifts are dangerous things... We have had cars fall off them more than once, since the base is not rigid..

IMHO, this is one thing you are better off buying a quality, well known brand - maybe not ARB, but Opposite lock, TJM, etc. The kind of thing you dont want to have fail at the wrong time.

Having said that, they all probably come out of the same factory, but probably not build to the same specs/standards - same as suspension.

Theres used ARB ones forsale around, I reckon 99% of them would have never been used in anger.

Regularly see ARB/TJM hilift jacks in the trading post for $50. They are $150 new. I got sick of ringing about them though as they seemed to sell 5 seconds after the paper came out.

possibly it would be difficult to find out exactly what you are buying as they probably get sold under many different brand names. Go into your auto parts place and they are full of the identical product in slightly different packaging for different amounts. Bottom line is remember China is a nation of disposeable people tens of thousands die in mining accidents alone every year life is cheap and these products get made in factorys where safety is a bag of rice to your family if you die at work and if you dont work because it is dangerous you and your family starve............... do you think these people give a #$%% about quality control? it costs far less to pay out the official to look the other way than to make a quality product
