Further to the recent discussion about turning off ABS in the bush.
On the weekend,I drove the Challenger a little way up a dirt hill steep enough to induce nosebleed and then reversed down on gearbox and brake. No problems. But I noticed that the ABS light went on in the dash display and stayed on 'till I stopped and restarted the engine.
There was no wheel slippage and no apparent loss of control. Swambo vetoed further science so I couldn't continue the experiment but the quest continues.

I am pretty sure the ABS on my MY01 Challenger does not work in reverse. I have the occasional problem with the ABS light coming on in soft sand. Turn the car off, and then back on cures it. I have always assumed that one of the sensors gets some sand on it and sends a error message. Not sure why it does not clear itself.

Hope this has been of some help.
