go with what you can afford.

PersonallyI am a BFG fan but have had no XP with Coopers.

Gents,
Have just fitted a set of BFG AT to my 120. Firstly let me say that i am a BFG fan as i had 2 sets of coopers fail at high speed ( older style dicoverys).
The BFG were much cheaper than the Coopers and, based on my experience that' all the better.

cheers,
Marc

I'm still deciding between the BFG AT's and new Cooper ATR's myself, but leaning strongly towards the Coopers at the moment. Was going to try the BFG's but there seems to be an awful lot written in the archives about the KO series BFG failing (although that seems to have gone quiet, so maybe it was just a bad batch). Some are first hand reports, not a friend of a mate said stuff.

I've got BFG MT's on my Landcruiser and they're great.

Use the search function and tick the boxes for 'both' and 'topic'.

You will find that ST are MUCH noisier compared to original Grandtreks.
New STT coming out in a couple of days.
BFG's are OK. The Cooper ATR is coming out in 265/65/17 Size in a couple of
months. I would go with Cooper ATR in either 265/65/17 or 265/70/17.

Just to add my two cents worth! I have Cooper ST's and they have done Googs Track, Gawler Ranges, Flinders, Birdsville, Camerons Corner. Went all that way with only some very small chipping on the back two tyres because of the weight we were carrying (I like to camp in style after 11 years in the Army!). Rang up Coopers and within 10secs of being on the phone to my tyre seller they replaced them with two brand new ST-C's. Though you pay a bit more for them the warranty and backup service is brilliant.

We just got a set of Cooper STs they are good so far and they were cheaper than the BFGs by $30 a tyre, we had BFGs on our old car and they were excellent, so i reckon either way you can't go wrong.

Baz.
