Does anyone know the details of the tyre placard on the 100 series GXL TD IFS. I want to fit 285/75R16 instead of the stock 275/70R16 but don't know if these are legal as the diameter increase is 43mm from original - I believe legal is max 15mm diameter increase over any standard sizes listed on tyre placard. Thanks, Richard.

LC100TD,

The change in tyre size will put the speedo out by 5.4% ie 100kph on speedo is actually 105.4kph on the road - assuming the factory speedo is correct, which it rarely is spot on. As regards the legality, well it will bepenfd on the tyre placard and wether Toyota change it with the new upgrade, or wether you can get the dealer to issue a new placard for the increased size. I know there is talk of the new Sahara model being available with 17" alloy rims, but I don't know what size tyres.
