After a good long weekend trip down the South West I thought I'd clean out the air filter as there was some pretty dusty driving.

As I lifted the cover off the air box the the rubber hose that feeds the clean air into the turbo/engine cracked and split.

I figured while I was replacing the hose ($130 f'ing dollars from toyota mind you!!) I'd pull these Bloody Hiclones out (the previous owner had them installed).

Sure enough I could see one in the end of the metal pipe that goes over the top of the rocker cover but I could not find a second one, I even took the other side off that goes from the top of the motor down to the turbo and couldn't see anything there either.

There were two Hiclone boxes that came with the car, so I can only assume there was two installed, but where the hell is the other one??

I'll let you know how much of a difference to induction noise removing the Hiclone makes on the safari snorkel when my new hose arrives (hopefully tomorrow).

Simple, it was so good at creating free power, that it actually entered the realm of zero point energy, and became anti matter !!

Umm somewhere between the filter and the inlet manifold ??

shoulda taken the blue pill instead of the red.....

I like that, you know that's probally about right too....

You might be on a winner there, I reckon they figured he'd paid for two but seeings as they don't make any difference they'll just whack one in anyway and hopfully he won't notice! ;-)

Didya have a look "upstream" of the airbox?..in the snorkel????...

No, I dunno why anyone would fit one there either, but that's a whole 'nother debate, right??..........
(mass-debate, perhaps??)

I fitted the snorkel so it won't be anywhere between the snorkel and the air box... Oh well, maybe they only put one in?????
I'm pretty sure if it had been eaten by the turbo I would have known about it!! LOL

Recommended spots are immediately after the air cleaner box and immediately before throttle body.

All this talk of hiclones is getting me wondering- Im gonna actually find what economy they do for a car (I guess it should have been done on installation...). My current 478km to a full 95L tank isnt too impressive, so Im gonna try em in then out. Either way I figure Ill win- flogging the shiney little bastards off should pay for a tank of petrol if they do actually send my economy backwards.

Best place for em is in the fridge. I heard that your fridge empties more slowly that way, more beer per km :)
