A little while ago (maybe more than a little) there was an article and some pictures in one of the 3 main 4wd mags. about a camper trailer that instead of having a dinghy sit on top had it inside - sort of surrounded by the camper bit. Could anyone knowing of the article or who maunf. such a beast please direct me to them. rgds

Can't help with the artical, but did see the trailer you mention at the camping show @ Penrith. It was NOT a dinghy but a full blown fiberglass ski boat they had in there. It ended up being a very BIG unit

The Gulf Lander (made here in Canberra) is the one I thought of first. As noted though , its no dinghy , its a full on 5m or so Fibreglass offshore boat.

That said though , Yes , I'm almost positive I HAVE seen a CT , like you describe , with a tinny of about 3.5m tucked away under the camper unit ?

Be stuffed if I can find it though . . .

G'day Mav.,
I'm not aware of the article to which you refer, but check out
Australian RV Trailers in Caboolture Q'ld. ( www.austrvtrailers.com ), & have a look at the "Top Ender" model... Is that the one??..
FWIW, I've had (ongoing) dealings with AustRV (custom work), & have found them to be a pleasure to deal with...

Maverick,
I know the one you are talking about, seen one for sale up at Karumba last Sept. It was a fold over canvas type with attachable legs that you hook on and pull the tinny and trailer out from under (looked a great idea) but dont remember the brand. And nowhere near as heavy or complicated as the Gulflander.

Maverick, there was one tested in 4wd monthly a couple of years ago that could be the one you are after. they were made by edmonds engineering in ballarat ,victoria but went under the name of maxiversal camper company.
I think they only ever made a couple as the idea didnt seem to take off ,They sold for about 14,000 by memory and can be contacted on [03] 53395024

Maverick , I know th trailer you are talking about , it is a Belco trailer , saw one set up at Lake Tinnaroo last year , awsome looking unit , was carrying a 4.35 mtr boat from memory , available from Coastal marine and outdoors in Cairns 0740331344, probably find them elsewhere but the this is the one dealer that I know about. Hope this helps
