Steve you can drive into Kalamurina station from Mungerannie who for a small fee allow you to drive on some of their station tracks but you will still end up well over 20 KM short of the lake as all down the Eastern side it is normally pretty swampy. There are a few old exploration shot lines further out that way but will still be a big walk to the lake. The only access I know of from that side is by boat down the Warburton (every 5 to 10 years) or down the Cooper which runs even less.

Cheers Craig.............

Steve

If you want to go to Lake Eyre then the best track is from Marree via Muloorina Station. There is also a nice campsite at the Muloorina Wetlands where you can camp for $2/night(2004 prices). It is a PAR up to the NP entrance.

Its a good road all the way up to where you enter the Nationbal Park. Then the next 15km is plurry corrugated! to the extreme. Maybe you will be lucky to travel on a newly graded track. You never know........
