Gday all. well easter is nearly upon us again. time to get away from it all for a few days and unwind.
problem is where to go, that is within a easy drive from Perth, that is not swarming with tourists.
we were thinking of heading up to Wedge island,,,,,,but, well would prefer a change of scenery.
am looking for somewhere near the coast,,,,or a river, dont need any amenities as we are self sufficient, but there must be something that will keep the kids occupied for a few days.
Warren river was mentioned to me,,,as well as somewhere between the two capes around margaret river.
if anyone has suggestions,,,pleasefeel free to pass anything on.
oh,,,we got the patrol and a jayco offroader, which doesnt mind getting scratched...:)

Rick,

What about up around Jurien Bay / Leeman way - there is Lake Indoon near the Stockyard Gully Caves just out of Leeman.

Rick

DEpends what you call a short drive, A favourite place of ours is between walpole and Denmark, called Boat Harbour.

There is a nice camping/caravan park just off the highway, unpowered sites about $6 per night per person. It is about 5k drive down a sand track to the coast where there is a beautiful sheltered harbour and beach.

Gets busy on the track but there always seems to be room at the Caravan park.

thanks guys,,,,got an offer to good to refuse for the easter break....down south, between denmark and walpole. nice block to set up the camper, and then explore to our hearts content.
if any of you are down that way over the break and see the patrol on the road (look for the sticker, right rear door,,,,bottom corner of the window..), make sure you say gday.

a happy easter to all.
