Today I had the pleasure of attending the Victorian State Little Athletics Championships and my nephew Michael (The Ferret), and he is just a little weed of a kid, won the Discus.
Then after winning his heat of the 60 metre hurdles, in a time slower than the other heats, came out in the afternoon, and dug deep, and won the final. Jenny and I, and my brother were up in the stand shouting ourseleves hoarse. The rest of the family were going troppo on the other side of Olympic Park.
Then when Jenny and I had to go, the little bloke thanked us for coming. Funny how kids don't understand the pleasure they give us.
I'll go to bed a happy man tonight, not just because he won, but because family is so important.
Cheers,
Jim.

I notice that one guy has a sig which includes "he with the most toys wins".
I can assure you that should read "he with the best family wins". Congratulations to the little fella, and to all the people who put in the time and effort to give everyone a great time.

I got four kids and more toys, but not as many as Crazie (toys that is)
Kids sure do puff out your chest when they do something

Sure do Bonz. My youngest ditched the training wheels on his bike today. Not a huge "event" but made me proud of him.

I had the best family long before I started on the toy list Footloose. It was this that enabled me to start the the list.

Well done Ferret, any kid with a nickname "the ferret' has to do
well.
Kids are just the best aren't they, the simplest things often bring us the most joy...hope Ferret continues to do
well at whatever he chooses.
cheers

There's an old blues song called "Shake Hands With A Millionaire". It's aboout a guy who has no job, no money and barely any food but he has a little boy who calls him Dad.
I need say no more. 'Cept I got one too. Ain't it great.
