Hi Brian,
I am actually planning a trip from
Tom groggin to
Omeo for April and intend to a trek from
Tom Groggin across the Murray and then via the Mt Pinnibar track to
the summit of Mt Pinnibar and then to Benambra and
Omeo.
This trek is detailed in the book " 4 WD
treks of the high country by boiling billy productions.
I think it was definately worth buying. Good luck.
Ozzy

A good day or 2 can be spent trekking over Davies plain, [davies plain hut for smoko if heading off from the dogmans hut in the morn] and down through Charlies creek [hut gone in fires] lunch at the poplars on the murray, still has access but some of the area closed, then
camp opposite the
toilet just near the seasonal
gate on
limestone creek, and take a walk into
the caves [follow walking track from oppsite
toilet block across creek and keep
rock formation on your right] call into
limestone hut if the
gate is open, turn right when you hit the main rd, and you can then take a scenic drive over native cat flat track, and then head along tea pot creek track, which will get you very close to
Omeo.
