Try and track down a company that has "aussie assist". Its a free service that looks afteryou when you're more than 100km from home. I've heard of a bloke that got ill up north, the cover paid for his flights, hospital bills, his familys flights, and transport for his caravan and his 4by back home. I figure its the cheapest travel insurance I can get. Keep an eye out for extra stuff like that Insurance Co's throw in with your policy, especially motoring clubs.

I have mine with Allianz.
Very similar package to TCIS advertised in 4x4 Aus. Alllianz underwrite their insurance but my SWMBO is a broker. You can try Action Insurance brokers if you want. They have offices in NSW and Qld.
And no she doesn't work on commission. I'm going to try a link for the second time here. Try See their web site
