Hi All,
Can someone clear up the luggage capacity of the Terracan. Looking at Hyundai site it quotes over 1000 Litres (SAE) luggage capacity. This is almost double the capacity of the Nissan patrol, is this correct? What is the payload of the terracan? On paper it looks good, but what segment is it aimed at, is it aimed at the Patrol etc.

You will find that the Patrols room is in the passenger section not the cargo section the cruiser has much more room and i would say the Terracan too.

Have a look at this and enjoy.

Well, in my opinion there is more leg room between the front and rear seats with the front all the way back ,about the same as the EF wagons leg room we had ,very nice.
With the rear row of seats in the space is ok ,but with them out we got as much if not more in for our hols to merimbula then the wagon had space for as the seats are higher. i don't think in real terms double would be right .

Hello
The Terracan spec sheet states luggage/cargo area as 1170 litres with rear seats up and 1955 with them down--dont know how 3rd seats are treated--totally removed or folded up.
If you like I can send you a copy of a page from the Overlander road test which has a schematic diagram and measurements in mm for both the Terracan and the Suzuki g7

my e mail address is ding at incanberra com au

What should probably be of greater concern is the actual load capacity of the vehicle, what is the difference between the tare and GVM and don't forget to allow for the passengers weight eg: if it has 6 seats allow approx 70kgs per seating position. Apparently 70kgs is what rego authorities allow when working out approximate weights.
Also don't forget to add the weight of fitted accessories, most wagon style 4wd's these days would be over GVM when loaded for a trip, technically voiding insurance.
