Hi,

Hope to be heading into Maytown late June after a trip to Cape Melville. Has anyone found out if you can still access the old coach road and then exit back out to the Palmer River Roadhouse??? Anyone got any good maps of that area they are willing to share?

Thanks

Maytown is accessible from either just north of Laura down the old coach trail or from whites creek road just south of the palmer river road house. In answer to your previous question there are now gates on the CREB track at the Daintree end and North at China camp just south of roaring meg falls. These gates are closed during the wet. June should be no problem but woulud pay to ring first. Cheers Rob

Thanks for both answers. I rang the Palmer River Roadhouse just before I got your answer and they said the same as you.

We did that track back in 2000 and it was some of the best 4wdriving to be had around there. You certainly had to keep the eyes peeled in some spots and there was certainly a lack of signage and a gps would have been a great help.

have fun
