Can anybody tell me the present condition of Walker's Crossing between Innamincka and Birdsville. Is it suitable for an off road camper trailer? Also the general condition of the whole track.

Thanks

hi, deepwood
i travelled walkers crossing in mid april track was good woundn't have any problems towing a off road camper but depending on the wind weather the road is safe to travel unless in convoy. the wind blows sand across the road and some were stuck for days.not me in my 100 series.depending on witch way you go you can contact john at mungarany pub like was advised hope this helps

Quite sandy on the Innamincka side and very rough lst 30 klms before coming out onto the Birdsville Track. Really should have another vehicle with you - particularly as there are a number of well-defined tracks you could take by mistake. You don't mention when you would be travelling. It is a very pretty route to take and shorter than going via Cordillo Downs or Arrabury.
